Eva Escamilla, creator of Ensedartehas been capturing emotions in unique pieces of natural silk since 2006. Her inspiration comes from the essence of Valencia: modernist architecture, ceramics, nature and flowers.

But this year, the artist is facing one of the biggest challenges of her life. After the floods of 29 October 2024, which swept away her home and car, Eva has risen stronger than ever, turning her art into a message of hope and solidarity.

In the Colon Marketthe exhibition "Valencia in Silk highlights the Mocador Solidaria natural silk scarf that pays tribute to Valencia and its resilience. This scarf includes details of the mosaics of the Estación del Norte and is engraved with the date of the floods, along with the phrase: "The people saves the people, tots a una veu".. Every purchase of the Mocador Solidari contributes directly to helping Eva to rebuild her life.

Art and solidarity for the Valencian market gardens

In addition to the Mocador Solidari, the exhibition features the original illustrations of the "Garden Game".. This board game, created during the pandemic by Miquel Minguet, Miguel Ángel Lambies and Carolina Castellar, teaches the value of agroecology through playful and humorous dynamics. Players must overcome challenges such as storms, theft and animals, all while learning about the importance of caring for the garden in a sustainable way.

Techniques and tradition in unique pieces

Ensedarte combines traditional and modern techniques in each creation. From batik, shibori and hand dyeing to printing and felting, each piece reflects the soul of Valencia: its traditions, landscapes, ceramics and the energy of its local festivals. Eva defines this exhibition as "a shot of energy in a complicated time" and hopes that her art will inspire visitors.
